Katie Bowen is the Director of Research Business Development at Rocky Mountain Clinical Research in Idaho Falls. Rocky Mountain Clinical Research is an endocrine and diabetes clinical research center.Katie Bowen is the Director of Research Business Development at Rocky Mountain Clinical Research. Katie first joined the Rocky Mountain Clinical Research team in September 2008 as a Study Coordinator before leaving Idaho to pursue opportunities that would expand her experience across the clinical research industry. Over the course of her career, she has built a diverse background spanning study coordination, clinical monitoring as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA), global clinical trial management, and operational leadership.

After returning to Idaho, Katie has brought that experience full circle to Rocky Mountain Clinical Research, where she now leverages her clinical operations, site-level, and leadership expertise to drive research growth, develop new clinical trial opportunities, strengthen sponsor and CRO partnerships, and support strategic site development. Her experience across both research site and CRO environments has given her a comprehensive perspective on clinical research, from patient engagement and site-level trial execution to global study oversight, operational strategy, and business development.

Katie is a graduate of Idaho Falls High School and has strong roots in the local community. She completed the Registered Nursing program at the College of Eastern Idaho and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University.

Throughout her career, Katie has remained passionate about clinical research and its potential to advance innovative therapies and expand treatment opportunities for patients and their families. She particularly values building meaningful industry partnerships, connecting site capabilities with sponsor and CRO needs, and creating opportunities that support high-quality study execution and sustainable research growth.

Outside of her professional life, Katie is a proud mother of four and treasures spending quality time with her family. When she is not working or attending one of her children’s activities, she enjoys puzzles, crafting, cooking, and baking. She also loves thrifting and is always on the lookout for a unique find or an unbeatable deal.
